Genetic hair testing that will give clear and precise insight on any women’s hair loss issue. This test is sent to your home and results are typically 4-7 days. Finasteride hasn’t been approved by the FDA for women. There are some circumstances that allow may doctors to prescribe Finasteride. These women typically take testosterone and have a build up of DHT in the hair folice causing hair thinning and excessive hair loss. Many tests have shown that Finasteride was able to alleviate these issues. If Finasteride isn’t appropriate for you, Dr Peptide has a private line of DHT blocking supplements that have shown to help women by 63% after 2 months of use.
How does it work:
FINASTERIDE BLOCKS THE CONVERSION OF TESTOSTERONE TO DHT
Finasteride is in the class of medications called type II 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. By blocking 5-alpha reductase, finasteride blocks the conversion of testosterone to another male hormone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT). In genetically predisposed people, DHT can bind to hair follicles and miniaturize them. Over time this can cause hair loss in a male pattern.
Decreasing circulating DHT hormone can block its effects on hair follicles and the prostate gland. Finasteride blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT by binding to the enzyme 5-alpha reductase. By blocking this enzyme, testosterone levels slightly increase and DHT levels decrease, blocking most of its action at the hair follicles.
